Who I am

This website is operated by Lewin Higgins-Green, an independent travel advisor trading as Higgins-Green Travel and based in London. I am the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact me about anything in this notice by email at [email protected] or through the enquiry form.

What I collect

When you send an enquiry, I collect the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number (if given), the service you are interested in, travel dates, destinations and anything you write in your message. Some of what you share may be "special category" information under UK data protection law — for example health, accessibility or dietary needs, or details that reveal your sexual orientation. I only use this with your explicit consent, given when you include it in your enquiry, to plan and book your trip, and I only pass it to suppliers when your booking needs it. You can withdraw your consent at any time. When you go on to book, I will also need details such as passenger names, dates of birth and passport information, which I collect directly from you at that stage.

How I use it

I use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare recommendations and quotes, and arrange and manage any booking you make. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing that contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me. I will not send you marketing unless you ask me to, and I never sell your information.

Who I share it with

Bookings are made through Colletts Travel Limited as licence holder, so booking details are shared with them to issue and protect your booking. I also share the details a booking requires with the hotels, cruise lines, airlines and other suppliers delivering your trip, some of which are outside the UK. Enquiry forms are processed by Netlify, which hosts this website, and the website is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it against attacks and processes visitors' IP addresses to do so. Netlify and Cloudflare may process data outside the UK, under safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within two years. Booking records are kept for as long as needed to meet legal, accounting and insurance requirements, typically six years after travel.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, and ask me to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how it is used, or transfer it. Email me and I will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Netlify, the hosting provider, keeps standard server logs for security and performance. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies that help it tell real visitors from automated traffic; these do not track you and cannot be switched off.
